The Company undertakes not to support or use conflict metals produced from conflict mineral areas and requires all suppliers to comply with the conflict-free mineral laws and regulations .
Conflict minerals refer to the metal minerals such as tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold (abbreviated as the “3TG”) produced in the conflict areas controlled by non-governmental military groups or non-military factions from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the nine countries sharing internationally recognized borders with it. The exploitation of these metals in the local areas has caused serious human rights and environmental protection problems. The mining activities in these areas are mostly related to armed groups in conflict (financial assistance), which has caused long-term instability to such areas. Therefore, the metal minerals including tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold produced there are called “conflict minerals”. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act approved by the United States in 2010 requires enterprises to ban the use of conflict minerals .

With the rapid development of the global economy, the ESG risks faced by enterprises are increasingly affected by the supply chain, including conflict minerals, hazardous substances, human rights risks and environmental risks. The Company complies with social responsibility standards, promotes the sustainable procurement management policy, constantly improves the supply chain management system, strengthens communication with suppliers, and continuously boosts the sustainable development of the supply chain system .
The Company has formulated the Evaluation Procedure for New Suppliers. The introduced new suppliers are required to fill in the ESH Self-evaluation Form and the Survey and Assessment Form of Suppliers’ Compliance and Trade Safety. Only after their evaluation results of environment, safety and compliance have been approved by the professional departments can they enter the Company’s list of qualified suppliers. In 2023, the proportion of using system standards to select suppliers reached 95.01%, which has effectively avoided the occurrence of supplier risk events .
New suppliers should sign the Letter of Commitment for Business Partners on Trade Safety and the Letter of Commitment for Suppliers on Not Using Environmentally Hazardous Substances. Such letters of commitment and guarantee serve as the code of conduct for suppliers and require suppliers to strictly abide by and implement them. From 2021 to 2023, the coverage ratio of suppliers who signed the code of conduct rose from 94.52% to 95.01 %.

In the future, the Company will gradually improve the sustainable procurement management system.
While increasing the proportion of local procurement and promoting local economic development, the Company will improve the supplier ESG risk management mechanism, including improving the supplier ESG selection and evaluation standards, carrying out supplier ESG knowledge training, and conducting on-site reviews on high-risk supplier ESG. Meanwhile, the Company will work with suppliers to jointly cope with responsing to climate change and lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the product value chain.
